Hazardous Materials Training

The Hazardous Materials classes offered by the County are free to fire departments (First Responders). I have not found any on-line courses. Next classes next year in 2020.

First Responder Operations (Saturday) is about identifying chemical hazards using the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG in Attack Truck) and following the safety/isolation guidance to protect the public.First Responder Operations Decontamination (Sunday) covers containment, initial decontamination, and use of decontamination PPEs. There are many other Hazmat courses that do not apply to us, including training for commercial drivers, factory workers, etc. (HAZWOPER).
