Mike was born August 2, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of James Monroe and Clara Jean (Pigg) Lawrence. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School with the class of 1964. Directly after graduating he enlisted into the United States Army where he served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. Before being honorably discharged in 1974 he received a Purple Heart and the Presidential Unit Citation for his service to his country. As a civilian Mike worked as the District Sales Manager for the Indianapolis Star and News for 13 years and a Over the Road Truck Driver before illness took him from that profession. He is survived by his wife A. Sharon Lawrence whom he married September 29, 1975; daughters Lisa Jean Lawrence of Indianapolis and Heidi Nonnenberg Ramsey of Arcadia, Florida; a son Emil D. Nonnenberg of Seffner, Florida; grandchildren: Michael J. Ramsey, Jessica Lynn Ramsey Dorsey, Shane Nonnenberg, Nicholas Nonnenberg and Bailee Lawrence; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law Linda A. Culver and husband Geary of Greenwood, Indiana. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery."
