John Sawyer Proctor was my father. He divorced Jane and married someone named Florrie or Florrie Silberger; divorced her, and married my mother, Jean Lyttleton McKechnie, of Cleveland, Ohio. They lived in New York City - their apartment was in Chelsea, on 19th St. My father (John Sawyer Proctor) died in 1964 or 1965 of "cerebral meningitis" - he had an interesting history in WWII as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne - (my cousin has been researching this aspect and I need to get that info from him) - and was also active in the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. My mother, Jean Lyttleton McKechnie
Proctor, was an editor of a Websters Collegiate Dictionary. Both of them worked free lance in NYC - my father did some technical writing for McGraw Hill, and my mother did editing work."
