Modoc County Special Districts

Special districts are separate government agencies under the State of California that provide local services under local control.

Modoc County is a rural county in the far northeast corner of California. The population is 8,700 persons. Most special districts are staffed by unpaid volunteers. There is no one to tax for elaborate services and yet critical services must be available.

These are not official district web sites, hoever they fulfill the California web site requirements for those yet to make their own. Also see the Modoc County Web Site - Special Districts.

Notes

These district pages are generated from a simple, text database of information about the individual districts, not individual page files. The data used in this web sit were provided by Modoc County. The district pages can be kept updated just by uploading a new version of the text database.
Modoc County has allowed districts to make pages on their web site, but few have used this oppurtunity. Most districts have limited IT expertise.
The required meeting agenda announcement for each district can updated by a simple web form which can be submitted by the district Secretary. The agenda can be typed in or cut and pasted from a Word or other document preparation software.
Fifteen (15) of the fourty-one (41) districts already have anweb site. Links to those sites are shown on these individual district pages.
